Written as a tribute to alto sax legend Johnny Hodges, this Tom Kubis arrangement is taken at a gentle walking ballad tempo that sounds more like something from the library of the Count Basie band than Hodges' longtime employer Duke Elllington. The volume level remains low for most of the arrangement until the shout chorus, which should have a nice sense of strength to it. Alto saxophone is featured throughout as both melody and improvising soloist.
